Tina Piracci
Tina Piracci is a sculptor, installation artist, and roboticist whose work explores mixed media and clay 3D printing as a tool for sculptural habitat restoration for marine life and broader investigations in sustainable technologies. Her practice is rooted in experimentation, merging art, robotics, and materials research to explore form, and new ecological futures. Inspiration for these pieces is often fueled by the patterns found in nature and the echoes of divine geometries.
Piracci’s works have been exhibited locally and internationally, including in California, New York, Taiwan, Ireland and more. Some of her local work can be found at Floridarama, the Underwater Museum of Art located 60 feet beneath the surface of the Gulf of Mexico as a coral restoration garden, and at the University of South Florida St. Petersburg campus in Heller Hall. Her ceramic 3D printing and robotics research has been featured in numerous publications and will appear in the forthcoming Oxford University Press book Hands in the Clay.
