Experience a multisensory reflection on Florida’s quiet beauty, on view at the FloridaRAMA Gallery
A softer side of Florida, told in light, sound, and sand
Looking for an art exhibit in St. Petersburg that’s a little different? One that trades the heat and hustle for something slower, softer, and maybe even a little strange?
This summer, the FloridaRAMA Gallery debuts Quiet at Heart, a brand-new immersive installation by Florida artist Keaton Fox, opening July 5.
It’s not loud. It’s not flashy. And it’s definitely not what you’d expect.
Instead, Quiet at Heart invites you to step into a multisensory space with floor-to-wall projections, a custom soundscape, and actual turf and sand beneath your feet. It’s meditative, it’s moving, and it’s a love letter to the quiet corners of the state we call home.
What Is Quiet at Heart? An Art Exhibit in St. Pete Like No Other
Quiet at Heart is a three-wall video installation made from Keaton Fox’s personal archive, over a decade’s worth of footage from around Florida. Think: wild grass, quiet water, heat shimmer, soft skies.
Paired with sound and physical textures, it creates an immersive mood piece that asks you to slow down and see Florida differently.
Fox was inspired by Joy Williams’ essay Quiet at Heart, and the idea that Florida isn’t just weird headlines and neon signs. It’s subtle, surreal, and full of moments we miss when we’re not paying attention.

Who Is Keaton Fox?
Keaton Fox is a Florida-based multimedia artist whose work blends video, sculpture, motion design, and storytelling. Since 2011, she’s shown pieces across the U.S. and abroad, always with a signature mix of emotion, technology, and reflection.
This installation is supported by a FloridaRAMA Fund artist grant through Creative Pinellas, which helps Florida artists bring new, bold ideas to life.
What Makes This Worth a Visit?
You’ve got plenty of options when it comes to art in St. Pete, but here’s why this installation stands out:
It’s immersive: You don’t just look at it. You walk through it, stand in it, and feel it under your feet.
It’s free: No ticket required. Just show up and enjoy.
It’s local: Made by a Florida artist, about Florida, and funded by a Florida arts organization.
It’s the kind of quiet that sticks with you: You won’t leave with a selfie. You’ll leave with a feeling.

Not all immersive art has to be neon or noisy. Quiet at Heart proves that Florida’s weirdness can also be gentle, poetic, and slow to unfold.
