About the Artist

Brigitte Coovert is a Florida based mixed media artist and creator of the Glue Babies universe, an ongoing body of work featuring surreal characters, melting landscapes and highly textured sculptural forms. Her work pulls heavily from personal experiences with chronic illness and explores the emotional and physical impact trauma and illness can have on the body and mind.

Using intentionally unpredictable materials and layered mixed media techniques, Coovert creates work that balances softness and discomfort, fragility and resilience. While the imagery often feels whimsical at first glance, her work carries a deeper emotional weight that invites viewers to spend more time with each piece.

Her Glue Babies series has developed a dedicated following online through original sculptures, miniature works, prints and ongoing themed collections that continue expanding her surreal visual world.
